Getting Started!
« on: March 19, 2007, 06:59:13 pm »
Welcome to our Community Forum!

This board is for those who have just joined our online community.  A good way to start is to tell us a little about yourself.  This is the place to do that!

This Online Community has but one goal and that is to make a better community!  To that end, we run this board as a cooperative effort.  We want local people making the decisions on how this board should go and where!

YOU HAVE A VOICE!
This is your forum - it represents our people to the world!  If you have ideas to improve things, we are listening!  But be sure, we listen MOST to those who are willing to get involved and do something!

Think Positive!

Now, share with us a little bit about yourself so we can get to know you...

Re: About Me!
« Reply #1 on: March 19, 2007, 07:12:53 pm »
Well, let me start.

I am LAN, some people think that stands for Local Area Network!

In fact I work on computers around the world - all from my home office in Talisay!

I am deaf!  Well, like most deaf, I can hear a little.  But anyway my deafness keeps me home!  Many times, a week or two will go by, without me even stepping foot out of the house!

I am a computer geeeeeeeek!

I often spend all day with my computer and, via the Internet, I even teach computers to those who want to know.

I love PHP!  It is a very advanced programing language that interfaces with XHTML very nicely to produce virtually all the websites in the Gamot Group!  Including the Grass Roots Kubo 4 Communities!

PHP, if you are motivated and believe in yourself a little, is actually easy to learn.  Many people teach it to themself without formal computer training!  It depends on my motivation!

I'm not any good at Cebuano or Tagalog at all.

As a side note:  Did you know all deaf students in the Philippines must learn English nouns?  FLS (Filipino Sigh Language) is not like any other language in the world.  Only related to Americian Sigh Language and not related to any Philippine Language at all!

Well, that's enough I guess...

Now it is your turn!

Well, I'm Ceferino Batoctoy This is my real name. Dalaguetnons used to call me 'Sir Pinoy". I served in the Department of Education for forty years.

Now, that I'm retired, I am here in California, USA.

I'm glad that we have now KUBO 4 Dalaguete Forums. I consider this as the right place to share my experiences and insights, as educator, with the hope to help our countrymen, particularly our fellow Dalaguetnons.

Hello Newbies! WELCOME to our community

My name is guyguy...

Any kind of activity that is not well planned or systematic IRRITATES me. I am often mistaken as being critical and perfectionist.

I enjoy hanging out with friends and cherish every moment with them. I can be sweet if you'll treat me nicely but if you'll treat me the wrong way, i'll still be nice to YOU. I don't like fighting, there's too much chaos going on in our world and I don't wanna add up to that.

...it interest me to know more people here...

If anyone knows where there is a Celiac Friendly Doctor / Clinic / Hospital or where you can be Medically Tested for Celiac, please post it at:

http://kubo4.com/community/index.php/board,115.0.html

Thank You Very Much!

We are also starting a NEW Board for Home Celiac Testing at:

Welcome John,

Our Gluten Free Philippines Community at http://kubo4.com/community/index.php#c15 is the largest in the Philippines.  Sadly, most Filipinos who suffer from Gluten Related syndromes like Celiac Disease do not know there is things they can do to change their lifestyles and reduce or end their suffering!

Believe me, you are NOT alone.  I have been Gluten Free (with a number of mistakes!) since the third quarter of 2007.  It was not easy, but we have discovered many tips and tricks to deal with life in the Philippines.

You will likely want to read a new post about Hidden Gluten at: http://kubo4.com/community/index.php/topic,3227.0.html and feel free to post questions.  I will surely try to help anyone with a gluten problem in the Philippines.

Hello,

I am Risa, trained as an anthropologist and filmmaker. I currently live in Metro Manila.

My celiac boyfriend is coming to visit the Philippines in a month. I joined the community to learn all I can to make his stay more comfortable.

Thanks for putting up this space, Lan.

Cheers!

Hi Risa,

Sorry I was delayed - I have really been very ill during this time with little time to do anything but to work, rest and heal.

The good news is the discovery of a number of nutritional benefits.  Wow! What a change it has made in my life...

We (my wife and I) will be merging this forum into a fully health and wellness related forum that incorporates these truths...

Watch for the Announcement in August or Sept.

Thanks John, we will contact Dra Anne Alvarez and see if she has a tie in other areas and what lab she is using...  This is a major break through...

God Bless,

Lan
